Maud becomes Area Champion and moves to Round 3 of baseball playoffs
It was a great day on the field as the Maud Cardinals trounced Hawkins 8-1 on Saturday, May 11, 2019 in Royse City to become Area Champions.
The champion-winning Maud Cardinals will now move on to the Regional Quarterfinals for 2A Region 3.
Bad weather, including rain and flooding have caused changes to the playoffs this year, but teams have risen to the occasion and produced great performances on the baseball diamond.
The area playoff game was moved to Royse City at 5 pm because of bad weather in the Paris, Texas area.
The Maud Cardinals are deserving champions who will face either Bowie or Cayuga in the Regional Quarterfinals.
